What "500m from the Haram" Actually Means

Hotel listings quote straight-line distance to the Haram boundary, not the walk you will do — treat it as the floor. Which gate the hotel faces matters more than the metres: 300m across a ring road can beat 600m with a direct approach. In Ramadan a ten-minute walk becomes forty at Iftar, which is when distance is worth paying for.
