Money, Cards and Payments in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi riyal is pegged to the US dollar, so there is rarely anything to gain from timing your exchange. Card acceptance in Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah is excellent — tell your Pakistani bank you are travelling so the first transaction is not blocked. City exchange houses beat airport counters; keep small notes for taxis, porters and charity.
