Umrah for Women: Rules and Practicalities

Saudi rules were changed to allow women to perform Umrah without a mahram, though some airlines and officials have been slower to catch up — confirm the position for your dates before booking flights. There are no special Ihram garments; ordinary modest clothing, face and hands uncovered. A woman who begins menstruating cannot perform Tawaf until pure but remains in Ihram.
